This website is a place for people and groups from New Orleans to share visions of how the city and local communities can use the land in the Lafitte Corridor.
This large strip of land is mostly empty. It belongs to the City of New Orleans, which is considering selling the land to private developers. To view that plan click on "THE CITY'S VISION" to the left or click here.
What do you think should be done? Should part of the corridor be kept as open space? What do you want to see there? Community gardens? Playgrounds? Nature paths? Please share your ideas in this forum. Click on the "IDEAS" section at left to post your thoughts.
Residents who live near the Lafitte Corridor are putting their plans together. We hope these residents will include your ideas in their neighborhood plans. Please post and let your voice be heard.
